We'll have interesting problems for you to explore--everything from applications of state-of-the-art aritificial intelligence to system design and so much more!

Keynote Speaker
Diana Lee Guzman, as the Founder and CEO of Coding in Color (a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on aiding underrepresented students in computing), along with being the Co-founder and CTO of My Real Exchange (a tech startup assisting homebuyers in obtaining fair mortgage rates), embodies her dedication to promoting STEM opportunities. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she completed her education at Carl Hayden High School, where her involvement with FIRST Robotics sparked her passion for STEM. Later, she earned a B.S. in Computer Science from New York University and leveraged her expertise as a Software Engineer at Boeing, contributing to cockpit displays and autonomous submarines, and at Microsoft, working on HoloLens software. Diana Lee remains committed to nurturing her passion for software and sharing its transformative potential with others. - 09:00AM: Opening ceremony
- 09:30AM: Non-profits pitch their problems to hackers (7 nonprofits, ~3 minute videos)
- 10:30AM: Team formation: find people who are interested in working on the same problem as you and who may have different skillsets and strengths than you - join the #virtual Slack channel to ask for people who are looking for a team and join the corresponding nonprofit Slack channels listed on hack.ohack.dev to ask questions to the nonprofits you're interested in
- 10:30AM: The Hackathon begins!
- 02:00PM: Submit team details - make sure you have officially formed a team and created a DevPost submission
- 06:00PM: Review the judging criteria
- HACK THROUGH THE NIGHT
Sunday (10/8)
- 08:00AM: Now is a good time to review the judging criteria and start building your demo video.
- 02:00PM: Code checked into GitHub. Everything you built is a public good and open-source.
- 02:45PM: Presentations submitted on DevPost
- 03:00PM: Hackathon ends
- 03:15PM: Judging - First Round
- 04:30PM: Judging - Final Round
- 05:00PM: Winners are announced / Prizathon!
Requirements
What to Build
1. Teams must be between 2 and 5 people - all team members must either have committed code or worked on your video submission since the start of the hackathon.
2. Winners must have a PayPal or Venmo account with the account in good standing in order to receive the prize.
What to Submit
1. You must have all code checked into your team's GitHub repo.
2. You must provide a video demo of your work. Video must be less than 3 minutes long. It should include:
- a brief intro (about 10 seconds) - no need to tell us names or roles, we can read that
- a discussion on the problem (~30 seconds)
- how you solved the problem (~2 minutes), show off your code!
- how you met the judging criteria (~30 seconds).

1st place
$500 to be split amongst the team
2nd place
$400 split amongst the team
3rd place
$300 split amongst the team
1st place Statement of Work
$1000 to a team of 2 - 5 team members that will complete the 1st place solution that satisfies the requirements of the Non-Profit representative(s).
Prize money can be increased from donations throughout the duration of this project at https://hack.ohack.dev/sponsor. All donated funds will increase the overall prize money for all teams equally.
The solution must be installed at the Non-Profits place of business on or before January 31st 2024.
Cloud solutions are also acceptable; provided the Non-Profit has access to the solution and a viable solution for hosting for a minimum of 1 year.
The members of the 1st place team identified at the event have first rights of refusal to work on completing the project.
Opportunity Hack will solicit interest from event participants interested in completing the 1st place solution in order to fill any vacancies encountered during the completion of the project.
2nd place Statement of Work
$800 to a team of 2 - 5 team members that will complete the 2nd place solution that satisfies the requirements of the Non-Profit representative(s).
